As Jaqanaz resort fraternity we believe our mandate goes beyond our guests and staff but also the host community. Integrating our resort’s operations into the life of the local community is highly rewarding for Jaqanaz resort fraternity, because it has impacted the community very positively both socially and economically.

The Resort has further made deliberate efforts to partner with some of the orphanages, Children Homes and rescue centers, notably LIPELA CHILDREN’S HOME AND THE ROSE FOUNTATION, that are within the community by giving aid both financially and in kind, the resort also provides mentorship and counseling programs.

The resort has also launched initiatives where by young girls are provided with sanitary pads that they do find hard access and the local Boda Boda drivers have been provided with the protective gear in an effort to curb the number of accidents.

The resort has immensely contributed to CLIMATE-SMART AGRICULTURE approach where 90% of our vegetables, fruits, herbs and meat items have been sourced from the local farmers hence mitigating the impact of environmental damage caused by emissions from transport and import, hence our guest can order from sustainable organic menu with healthier options.

Jaqanaz resort has taken the ECO FRIENDLY concept to another level by generating its own water with the state of the art purification systems, and invested in Bio digesters that absorb all affluent from our sewer system and diffuse it all within the property with zero pollution to the environment.

The water also serves the community at no fee, ensuring continuous access to clean and safe water reducing the chances of spread of waterborne diseases.

The Resort is located in a key destination in the Mount Kenya region which is frequented by both local and international tourists; we have launched initiatives that have bolstered increased employment opportunities to the young people hence reducing poverty and improve overall quality of life in Naromoru Town.

We have initiatives where we give priority and recommend to our guests locally set up tour firms and operators when our hotel guests want to visit and explore the local attractions.
